In Victoria - For SME's whose total wages is less than $3 million will have their payroll tax for the first three months of the financial year 2020/21 deferred until 1 January 2021

Small to medium businesses in Victoria with total taxable wages for this financial year (2019/20) of up to $3 million will have their annual payroll tax refunded. This equals to $550 million being given back to business.

Businesses will need to continue submitting their return, but don’t need to pay any further this year. Payment already made for this will be reimbursed and the revenue office will be contacting eligible businesses directly.

Eligibility:

Victorian Businesses whose total taxable Australian wages for 2019/20 are no more than $3 million.

This refund applies to the 2019-20 financial year and reimbursements will start 27 March 2020
