Social Housing Tenants – ACT

For Public Housing and Community Housing

Community and non-government organisation partners have important role in supporting our community through COVID-19. The ACT Government is providing a number of measures to support them meeting increased service demand.

Housing ACT will make a one-off bank payment of $250 to all social housing households by June 2020.

This includes both public housing and community housing households that pay rent based on their income. This payment is to relieve some of the financial pressure that may be felt by those most vulnerable in our community during this time.

This initiative is in addition to the Australian Government’s one-off payment of $750 to social security, veteran and other income support recipients and eligible concession card holders.

Housing ACT will work with other ACT Government agencies and our community housing providers to find the most efficient way to make these payments.

Contact will be made to those eligible as soon as possible. Social housing households do not need to phone Housing ACT, Access Canberra or attend the Housing ACT shopfront about this payment. Further advice will be directly provided.

Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
